Hello Trappers!
Hello everyone, and welcome to another installment of your trusty Trapper e-periodical. It's been a while since we sent one of these, so there's a lot of news to report. Let's get to it then!
New Live EP on iTunes
The good people at iTunes were kind enough to invite us in for a recording session last time we were in LA, and the results are now available for purchase. We did mostly acoustic versions of Black River Killer, Echo, Furr, God & Suicide, Lady on the Water, and Not Your Lover. Click here to check it out!
We're on tour!
Hopefully you've figured this out on your own already, but yes, the Trapper van is currently rolling towards your city (well, some of your cities). We just played Minneapolis last night (woooo!), and there's a lot more to come. We're lucky to have the incredibly talented Alela Diane with us on all of these dates, as well as the great Plants & Animals on the New York shows. Tourdates in the sidebar!
Festival Madness! SXSW, Coachella, Sasquatch, Pickathon
A bunch of great festival-type activities just got announced, and we're very glad to be a part of them.
First up, we'll be playing a day party for NPR at this year's SXSW festival in Austin, Texas. The party starts at 12:30pm on Thursday, March 19th at the Parish, and Dirty Projectors, K'NAAN, BLK JKS, Blind Pilot (PDX represent!), and the lovely Thao Nguyen will all be joining us. Full details here. If there's one thing we all love it's public radio, so you know we're psyched about this!
Later that evening we'll be playing a showcase with our Sub Pop brethren, including Red Red Meat (!!!), No Age, Vetiver, Obits, and Handsome Furs. Quite the lineup! Details on that here.
Then there's this little festival called Coachella! Another great lineup on this one. We're stoked to be playing this year, and you can find full details here.
We'll also be making our second appearance at the wonderful Sasquatch Festival in the incredibly scene Columbia Gorge. If you haven't been, let us assure you that this place is totally breathtaking. Also breathtaking is the frikkin' lineup this year -- so many good bands! Click here the full rundown.
Finally, we're honored to be playing this year's awesome Pickathon Festival! They've put together a great bill this year including the aforementioned Alela Diane, Dr. Dog, Vetiver, and many others. There's camping and nature and we hear it's all just a really good time, so definitely check out the website here.
Touring with Fleet Foxes! Again!
Our dear friends the Foxes are also playing Coachella this year, so we decided to make a thing of it and tour down there and back together. You may remember the Foxes joined us on our last tour, so we're super excited to roll with them again. Good dudes! Dates in the sidebar.
Furr Video
We've got a new video for Furr, directed by our dear friend Jade Harris, which you all can see here. Enjoy! Apparently MTV has even been playing this on Subterranean, which is totally awesome.
Blitzen Twitter
We've taken the plunge and gotten on Twitter, and so far it's a lot of fun. We even got tweet-props (just made that up) this morning from none other than Rainn Wilson!?! These infowebs are amazing I tell you. So yes, please follow us at http://twitter.com/blitzentrapper
